Twin Dragonflies Photography Studio is a San Jose newborn photographer specializing in posed and lifestyle newborn sessions. Parents in San Jose, Los Gatos, and Palo Alto typically book during pregnancy to secure a session within the baby’s first 2–3 weeks.

Expecting a baby is one of the most special times in your life, and I hope you are enjoying every moment of this journey. As an experienced San Jose newborn photographer, I recommend booking your newborn photography session early in pregnancy to secure your date. Don’t worry if your little one arrives earlier or later than expected—we’ll adjust your session accordingly.

The studio newborn sessions are held in my professional studio in West San Jose. Families have full access to a curated collection of newborn props, wraps, and accessories, with the option to choose colors and styles that reflect their vision. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and memorable newborn photography experience that results in timeless portraits you’ll treasure for years.

Studio Newborn Photography – FAQ

When should I book a studio newborn photography session?
We recommend booking your newborn session during your second trimester to ensure availability around your due date. The actual session is typically scheduled once your baby arrives.

What is the best age for studio newborn photos?
The ideal time is within the first 5–14 days after birth, when babies are sleepiest and curl naturally into those classic newborn poses.

How long does a studio newborn session take?
Sessions usually last 2–3 hours, allowing time for feeding, soothing, and safely posing your baby without rushing.

Do we need to bring props or outfits?
No need. The studio provides wraps, outfits, headbands, hats, blankets, and carefully selected props. We create a custom setup tailored to your preferences.

Can parents and siblings join the session?
Absolutely. We encourage family participation to capture meaningful parent and sibling portraits along with individual baby images.

What should parents and siblings wear?
We provide wardrobe guidance before your session. Neutral and soft tones photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your baby.

Is the studio safe and comfortable for newborns?
Yes. The studio is kept warm and sanitized, and all posing is done safely with baby comfort as the top priority.

When will we receive our photos?
Your proof gallery is typically delivered within 2 weeks, and final images are completed 1-2 weeks after your selections.

What if my baby is fussy during the session?
No worries. Sessions are baby-led, with plenty of time for feeding and soothing to keep your baby comfortable.

How do we reserve our newborn session?
Booking is secured with a signed agreement and session retainer after contacting us through the website.
